A special challenge is waiting for fit, sure-footed and experienced mountain hikers: SEVEN SUMMITS of Saalbach Hinterglemm. This almost 24-kilometre mountain tour through the highest summits of the Glemmtal Valley, with an alpine character and as many as 1,413 meters of altitude, is for hard-nosed individualists and physically fit alpinists.
The long-distance trail classic. From the Schattberg high above Saalbach to the Schmittenhöhe high above Zell am See. Although the hike requires only 650 metres of climb, it’s total length of 28 kms should not be underestimated. There are no mountain huts on the way.
This new long-distance trail in Saalbach Hinterglemm’s valley head makes for a good hike, provides breath-taking views every step of the way and is — as the locals say — totally “lässig” which means “cool”! On 22 kilometres of distance 1,700 meters in altitude (uphill) are overcome and wonderful panoramas discovered.
